NSP/Community Development

This program is a combination of several activities designed to include area residents in decision making regarding their community. This includes:

Abandoned Autos

Abandoned autos and vacant lots are identified by LPCC staff and

local residents, and then are referred to the appropriate city
service.

Clean and Green

Clean and Green is an effort by local residents to clean-up their

and their neighbors yards and businesses. Planting products
(flowers and small shrubs) are often donated by local business
persons.

Property Checks

Property checks are conducted by LPCC’s Community Liaison

and volunteers. They canvas the neighborhood of Capitol Drive to
Cornell and Green Bay Avenue to Teutonia Avenue. These are
visual property checks for the purpose of identifying abandoned
property, garbage build-up, dilapidated homes and or
questionable activities in the area

Community Meetings

Community Meetings are held monthly. This provides residents

an opportunity to address issues with various representatives of
the City or County of Milwaukee. This has includes the Milwaukee
Sheriff’s Department, the Milwaukee Police Department,
representative from MSG and FEMA, along with from various other
City and County Departments depending on the needs and topics
of each meeting.
Residents are specifically trained in anti-crime, crime prevention
and gang prevention modalities. This provides even more “on the street” eyes. Residents know what to look for and know whom to contact.
